FREE WEBINAR: Point-of-Care diagnostic consumable development: The importance of biochemistry expertise
Dr. Jens Sobek - Head of Biophysics Group, Functional Genomics Center Zurich
A practical guide to complex microarrays development; an example of lipopolysaccharides (15 MINS)
The development of high-density multiplexed commercial microarrays is a challenge, particularly when applicable data from literature are not available. Using lipopolysaccharides (LPS) as example for difficult and complex probes, Dr. Sobek will present a universal workflow for microarray development. This will outline a step-by-step process to identify relevant spotting and processing parameters in order to obtain optimal probe immobilization, spot morphology, and signal-to-noise ratio.
Dr. Charlie Huang - Head of Diagnostics & Life Science, AnteoTech
Nanoparticle bioconjugation for PoC assay development (15 MINS)
Biomolecules vary in compatibility with the passive adsorption or chemical covalent methods used in conventional bioconjugation approaches. This creates reproducibility issues for assay developers and manufacturers. In this presentation, Dr. Huang will discuss an alternate nanoparticle bioconjugation tool developed by AnteoTech using nano-sized polymeric metal ions enabling stable conjugation by forming multiple coordination points with both the underlying surface and the target biomolecule.
Dr. Briony Cristiano - Head of Bioscience, SCHOTT MINIFAB
Successful assay translation by design. The importance of an early development perspective (15 MINS)
Successful assay translation of a benchtop assay to a microfluidic environment is challenging and complex. Having a thorough understanding of the fundamental drivers of assay performance during the early stages of development is key to success. In this presentation, Dr. Cristiano will reveal how SCHOTT MINIFAB has developed a process to optimize this effort. The importance of bioscience and engineering teams working collaboratively from the very beginning of a program will also be showcased.
